[Speaker 1] many times what happens is that I have been called for an emergency from a hospital where I am as a already consultant or even my own nursing home for that matter. And sometimes it's just not possible to attend all emergencies. So what happens, what is my liability for attending any emergency for which I have been called for? [Speaker 2] So great. Suppose you are not available, you can refuse a patient. But emergency you cannot refuse the patient. Now you cannot reach. So when patient reaches to a hospital, definitely it is going to be handled by some of the doctor. And after taking complete clinical examination, doctor feels that ki no need of orthopedic surgeons are mandate here and if orthopedic surgeon is not available or could not able to reach, it is the duty of that hospital to refer a patient immediately to some nearby hospital or any tertiary care center for saving the life of the patient. In scenario situation where you are already engaged with some other patient, you are already giving services to some patient and saving a life or maybe because of traffic and other issues, in emergency when you called and you are already intimated that this is going to be time which is going to be taken, you can safeguard yourself and have a very good defense court of law. For which liability is not directly going to come to you. But definitely vicarious liability is going to go on hospital if they don't act immediately.
