[Speaker 1] In the hip replacement, sometimes while doing a surgery, there is a question in our mind of getting the stability versus the length. So when we are reducing the joint after we have completed the surgery, we feel that the joint is the length of the legs is proper, but it is little unstable because of whatever muscle wasting or whatever has happened. So we try to to gain the stability, we have to increase the length. And because of that, there will be something called as a limb length discrepancy, which in Western countries is taken very badly. Basically, they say that ispe toh you will have to be sued. Doctors are getting sued left, right, center for the limb length discrepancy. In India also, I heard a case around eight, 10 years back where a very high profile doctor was sued, and then the patient had to undergo a second surgery because of correction of that limb length discrepancy. And luckily, the second doctor did not give a statement against the first one. So that is why the case did not go ahead. But is that have you faced such a case? Is is there a liability in India or not yet? [Speaker 2] Yeah, it is a liability in India. I don't say no to that. But again, to prove the liability, it is a burden of proving this case is on a patient. Because doctor got defense what you rightly said that ki why lengthening or why increase of length has been done. Why such lengthening came? Because you want to give a stability to the patient because of such a scenario. The judgment of a doctor, surgery done by the doctor is accepted well as a prime treatment. And there if doctor has defending himself with these evidences, naturally books, references and expert opinions of other doctor are talking in favor of a doctor, it becomes very difficult for the patient to prove it that why it has happened. But if patient able to prove because of whatever the reason that yes, this was a deficiency and this caused because of particular reason, then liability is definitely going to be on the doctor.
