[Speaker 1] in the consent form, what are the signatures required of the patient? If the patient is child, one, if the patient is adult or if the patient is a senior citizen. What is there any difference? [Speaker 2] So basically, settled law is there. When we talk about patient signature, they must be adult and conscious. For minor or unsound mind, guardian consent is important, who is whoever is a guardian, maybe relative, close relative. And in senior citizen they can sign, if they cannot sign, of course, the guardian signatures are needed. It is very important for us to understand, Neeraj, which I have found in multiple places, the lacuna that my doctor does not sign on consent form. But as per the law, it is a contract where two people are going to sign and witness signature is there. So patient signature is mandatory. Doctor signature is mandatory who has explained all these things which is to the patient. Witness signature is mandatory. And witness in case of translator need to be another witness in that because many a time language problem do come and where translators are there, may be relative, may be our own people. So translator signature is mandatory in all the signatures. So three signature we always recommend to the people to have which is not been found. Secondly, I have found in the country when paper comes to me, there are multiple pages consent nowadays. And I have seen that only last page signature is found, which is absolutely wrong in law because when we go to take a loan, if you remember, bankers take signature on every single page or per se property also. Why? Because the page where you signed is going to be read in law. Now, multiple consent paper and all the paper does not have a signature and only last paper, these paper cannot be read in law and that become a very problematic to the doctor. So advisable, if there is a multiple paper front back side or continuous sheet, to have a signature on every paper. That is going to be the best document which can be presented to court and safeguarded to the doctor.
