[Speaker 1] Patient went to his native place. Fell down in say maybe say Sholapur and had an accident. There he took some first aid. Then he comes to me after 10 days. I do an MRI and now I have to operate. Which police station shall I inform? How do I do a medico-legal case? [Speaker 2] So now there is two thing. One, the accident place is a jurisdiction of the police station where it need to be. [Speaker 1] Yes. [Speaker 2] Now since your hospital comes in your jurisdiction, it is your duty to intimate them. And nowadays because of advancement and because of new BNS law, Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita and Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sahita, what triple law, Bharatiya Sakshya Sahita, it is the new concept of zero FIR came or intimation came. Across the country anywhere you can file a complaint. And it will get diverted to that particular police station whose jurisdiction it comes. So naturally since your hospital belong to a particular jurisdiction, just send a mail to that, hey accident happened at Solapur, wherever patient as per the history given to the patient, now I am operating the patient, just to intimate you. Now it is duty of the police to intimate to that police station or to take a call. You are least bothered. You should not have worry because you have done your job. [Speaker 1] So basically the conclusion is that email is enough and acceptable and a phone call with a PC number or a PSI number is also enough. And a letter with a stamp and acknowledgement is the best. [Speaker 2] The best.
